Mario San Giorgio is a 5th Dan Black belt in Karate and a Brown Belt in BJJ Mario San Giorgio has been teaching in and around the Sydney area for over 20 years. As a senior coach at the Integrated Martial Arts Academy in Peakhurst and Canterbury in Sydney Mario brings a wealth of knowledge and not just from the Karate discipline. As a supporter of lifelong learning and continuous improvement, Mario also trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in which he holds a purple belt, and is a Certified Kru (instructor) in Muay Thai. The early days for Mario included training in Tang Soo Do, and Jow Gar kung Fu, but these days focusses his teaching skills on the physical and mental benefits of Karate Kickboxing and BJJ. Mario believes martial arts is about learning effective self-defence, embracing self-discipline, demonstrating respect and humility. Strength of the body comes only from hard work, resilient mind and spirit comes from your desire to succeed, and when it can be done in a safe and friendly environment the task is made a little more achievable. Mario understands that inspiration and motivation should come from his training, and on the competition mats he wants his students to love their art and use each experience in competition or training as a steppingstone to positive improvement and personal success. “Per se balen” Strength in oneself – is a motto that Mario stands by! Its reasonable to say that anyone who has experienced profound life changes through martial arts is usually the best person to pass on that knowledge to others because no delivered course can give you the necessary knowledge required to connect with students. Mario San Giorgio has that experience necessary to impart the necessary formula that that enriches the lives of the students at the “Integrated Martial Arts Academy!” As a martial arts practitioner and coach, Mario is focussed on always providing a professional training environment for kids and adults. Students need motivation and inspiration to learn, by mixing fun, variety, and strong leadership he is able to help students to set and realise goals more easily.

He has a wealth of tournament experience and successes including winning the Japan All Martial Arts full contact Championships in 2012. For over 40 years Sifu Rick has trained in and developed the Wing Chun he learned from William Cheung (Bruce Lee’s senior training partner and Ip Man’s live-in disciple), integrating a sophisticated kicking game and Will/Machado Brazilian Jiu Jutsu into what you could now consider to be a complete Wing Chun Martial Arts System. The classes are structured to cater for all levels of experience. Beginners to advanced students are welcome in all classes. We have a strong concept of pressure testing all that we do so we can have real confidence that what we are practicing will be effective in a high stress situation. Sifu Rick is a former World Champion Full Contact fighter and our school has nurtured many individuals into talented martial artists that have competed and won on many platforms. We don’t have a fight program at our Sydney school, our interstate schools are currently flying that flag for the organisation. We do however have a strong sparring curriculum and that proves to be challenging enough for the majority of our students. For those who want to compete we do of course support them. Our instructors are experienced martial artists. Some have a background purely in Red Boat Wing Chun and Will/Machado BJJ, others have Boxing, Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Hsing-I and Karate backgrounds on top of their many years of training in Red Boat Wing Chun. The school’s values are that of Family, Honour and Loyalty. We welcome all students as if they are family and expect everyone to treat each other with the care and respect that you would expect from such a relationship. Our duty is to provide a place that nurtures your path toward excellence in martial arts, and for those who have embraced this culture their lives have changed for the better as well.
