4-Week Youth Introductory Program

Awakening Strength, Pride, and Culture

Program Overview

Path of the Young Warrior is a four-week introductory journey for youth aged 10–17. This foundation program is an invitation for the youth to immerse themselves into the Ngurra Warriors philosophy, which is a way that links body, mind, and culture through both traditional and contemporary forms of movement. The participants delve into the origin of the warrior spirit and become familiar with how the combination of physical strength, respect, and belonging can not only lead to one’s identity but also be a source of leadership.

By means of guided sessions that feature Indigenous martial traditions and at the same time, are geared towards the development of practical skills, the program acquaints the participants with the techniques of striking and grappling as well as the safe handling of cultural training tools. Building confidence, teamwork, and cultural pride are the objectives behind each participant’s engagement in the activities, through which they gain an understanding that real strength is the one that is grounded in respect for self, others, and Country.
